05/01/2015 – HC PVE Inaugural Golf Day
HC PVE welcomed in the New Year with a planned bi-annual golf day at Castlefields Golf Club. The weather was very kind after a blustery night. Needless to say the course was a little saturated from the previous night’s rainfall.
Although the course was kept in fantastic condition and we would like to thank Chief Green keeper Peter Thompson for the efforts in the early morning. This in particular allowed for an exciting and fun filled day to be had by all.
Stableford was the preferred format, although with a twist. Pictorial cards were assigned for the following hazards:
- Monkey = Hitting a Tree
- Camel = Landing in a Bunker
- Frog = Landing in the Water
- Gorilla = Out of Bounds
The amount of times you proceeded to go into/hit the hazards increased the winning pot by a significant margin.
The dreaded snake or “3 putt” was left at the club house due to the conditions, but fear not, it will make its reappearance in the Summer Event.
Despite a medium gale blowing on the occasion, the round scoring was excellent and we did gain a champion in the form of Director, Andrew Mowat. Followed closely in second by our very own Air Quality / Sales Engineer, Ryan Marriott.
A picture of the presentation and warm embrace by Andrew and soon to be Captain, Gareth Marsden:
Here’s to Andrew Mowat and his winning score of 41 Points
Many thanks to Castlefields Golf Club for allowing the Day to go ahead on all the normal greens.
Happy New Year All!!!!!
